  1. Either you can forward to the next tax period
  2. Nor you can apply for receive as refund.

The registered company must file VAT return to the FTA before 28th day after the end of each tax period or any other date which FTA specifies on the portal. Payable VAT should be remitted to the FTA within the same timeframe.

What if you fail to submit VAT return on time?

Failure to act in accordance with UAE VAT return filing law will result in huge fines and penalties from the authority. Some of the VAT administrative penalties associated with UAE income tax returns are:

A fine of AED 1,000 will be imposed for the first time on a VAT registrar who fails a VAT return within the time frame set by FTA. If the offense repeated, the FTA will impose a fine of AED 2,000.

In case you filed VAT on time but with some mistakes , the next step you need to do is Submission of Voluntary Disclosure(VD) FTA rules says that you must pay the following penalties if this is the scenario.

*AED 3,000 will be imposed on the first time and 5,000 for the next.
